Become a Member

The first Atlantic Youth Art Festival brought together more than 200 families — and so many of you asked how to stay involved all year. Now you can.

The Atlantic Youth Arts, Culture & Family Society is opening Family Membership for the 2027 membership year (December 1, 2026 – November 30, 2027). One membership covers your whole family — for $20 a year.

Membership is how our festival becomes a community: families who create together, celebrate together, and have a real voice in what we build next.

Member Benefits — What Your Family Gets

  • Atlantic Youth Art Festival (August 2027) — an early submission window, and one artwork per member family guaranteed exhibition space (subject to basic eligibility screening)
  • Programs & workshops all year — priority registration and member pricing (free or discounted where offered)
  • Art auction — early preview and bidding access, 24–48 hours before the public opening
  • First to know — events, workshops, and opportunities arrive first through the member newsletter
  • Member appreciation event — an annual celebration for member families
  • A voice in the Society — one vote per family at the Annual General Meeting, the right to attend and speak at general meetings, receive the Society’s financial statements, and stand for election to the Board of Directors

2027 at a Glance — Where Your Membership Goes

  • March — Youth art workshops warm up for festival season
  • April – July — Belonging Through Art: monthly youth workshops
  • May – June — Spring art sessions, including a seniors’ art day
  • August 20–22 — The 2nd Atlantic Youth Art Festival (the 2027 theme will be revealed when the call for submissions opens — members hear it first)
  • October – November — “Under Renovation” youth workshop series (fall session)
  • November – December — Intergenerational holiday project with local seniors

(Programs are offered as funding and venues are confirmed; members always hear first.)

Members’ Responsibilities

Membership is a two-way promise. Members agree to:

  • Support the objects of the Society and uphold its By-laws
  • Pay annual dues on time to stay in good standing
  • Keep their contact information up to date

Already a Volunteer? Wear Both Hats

Many of our volunteers are becoming members too — because volunteering is how you give, and membership is how you belong. If you help at our events, we’d love to have your family on the member roll as well.

How to Join (3 Steps)

  1. Fill out the membership form (button above).
  2. Send your $20 dues by e-transfer to atlanticyacafs@gmail.com (payee: Atlantic Youth Arts, Culture & Family Society), memo: Membership 2027 – [your family name]
  3. Watch your inbox — we’ll confirm your membership and send your receipt by email.

The fine print, plainly: dues are non-refundable. We are a registered non-profit society, not a registered charity, so dues are not tax-deductible. If the $20 is a barrier for your family, please contact us confidentially at info@atlanticyouthartfest.com — no family will be turned away.
