About The Society

Atlantic Youth Arts Culture and Family Society is a Canadian non-profit organization registered with the NS Registry of Joint Stocks, based in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, and founded in November 2025. We serve youth, families, and communities across the Atlantic provinces.

We are a multigenerational team — seniors, parents, and young people working side by side, united by a simple belief: serve the community with our own hands. What we receive from the community, we give back to the community. Our work is guided by a six-member board and powered by more than twenty dedicated volunteers.

We believe art connects people across ages, cultures, and backgrounds. Our work brings together youth, families, seniors, and newcomers through creativity, cultural celebration, and community engagement, fostering creativity and belonging across the Atlantic provinces.

What We Do

  • Atlantic Youth Art Festival — our annual flagship exhibition celebrating young artists aged 7–18 from around the world
  • Youth art workshops — hands-on creative learning for children and teens
  • Seniors’ art workshops — because creativity has no age limit

Our Vision

As we grow, we dream bigger:

  • A seniors’ art festival — who knows, we may discover the next Maud Lewis
  • Workshops and talks for newcomer families — parenting, schooling, and settling in
  • Community arts and cultural events — diverse cultural celebrations, language exchange corners, and more

Our Impact

Our inaugural Atlantic Youth Art Festival, held in August 2026 at the Centre for Craft Nova Scotia, brought together 60+ young artists, welcomed 200+ families, and drew 100+ guests to its opening ceremony.

Support Us

We welcome sponsorships and partnerships from art organizations, schools, and businesses — every contribution helps us bring more art to more people. The more, the merrier! For questions about the Society, please email us at atlanticyacafs@gmail.com.
