My picture is about connection. The trees, flowers, birds, bees, animals and water are all friends. They help each other and live together. Everything in nature is connected and if we take care of nature, nature takes care of us.

This artwork shows a penguin family standing together on a piece of melting ice. The title, The Last Ice, reminds us that the polar regions are changing because of climate change. As the Earth becomes warmer, ice melts, sea levels rise, and many animals lose their homes.

Tree of Love shows that connection grows from kindness. The tree, cats, and colourful sky remind us that love connects us to nature. The centred pink tree is using its branches to embrace the space around it. The two closed cats emphasize companionship and trust. The colourful background creates a sense of everything.

My painting is showing the connection between humans and nature. Trees are very important. With out trees and plants there is no life. So how trees grow, we grow too. That is why I made a human a tree and roots in my painting.

When I hear the word “connection,” I think about my head and my body. My neck connects them together. My blood and nerves also help connect everything inside my body. My head helps me think, and my body helps me move and do things. They need each other every day.
